LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – A woman has been arrested and is accused of assaulting a teacher in Robeson County.
Deputies responded to Union Chapel Elementary School around noon on Tuesday “in reference to an assault on a teacher,” according to a press release from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were reportedly informed “that a teacher was assaulted by a parent on school grounds.”
The parent was reportedly on campus because the teacher requested a meeting with her, and the teacher reported the parent began to use profanity toward her and physically assaulted her, the release said.
Elane Locklear, 31, of Lumberton, was arrested by investigators with the RCSO Juvenile Division. She is charged with “communicating threats, injury to personal property, assault and battery, assault on a school employee and disorderly conduct on school grounds.” Locklear was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center and received an $8,500 secured bond.
