(WSPA) — South Carolina shoppers can save on clothes, computers and many more items this weekend.
The state’s annual Sales Tax Holiday starts Friday and continues through Sunday.
“Well, I feel like I saved a lot of money. I’m getting my computer for school,” says college student McKenzie Gallo. “I got all my school supplies. Just trying to save that extra money so I can pay for all my college stuff, and tuition is pretty high, so I wanna be able to save as much money as possible.”
Back-to-school items are exempt from the state’s 6 percent sales tax and local taxes during the tax-free weekend, according to the S.C. Department of Revenue (SCDOR).

Tax-free items include clothes, shoes, school supplies, computers and even home goods, such as bed linens and bath towels.
The SCDOR says the holiday weekend saves shoppers between $2 million and $3 million.
