Water services have been restored and a boil water advisory is in effect in Scotland County.
According to a post on the Scotland County, NC Facebook page, water services were restored on Monday and a boil advisory is in effect.
“Please be patient and allow time for the system to build pressure back up. Please adhere to the boil advisory until further notice,” states the post.
On Monday, county and Laurinburg city water systems were down due to flooding, according to a press release from the City of Laurinburg Government.
The Division of Water Resources advised that when water was restored, consumers boil all water for human consumption, including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation, or to used bottled water.
“Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water,” stated the release.
Officials have also asked water consumers to conserve water whenever possible.
