MANNING, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say a 21-year-old woman has been arrested after she found her 4-month-old son unconscious in his crib and left their South Carolina home without telling anyone.

An arrest warrant from the State Law Enforcement Division said Rondasha Steward was charged Thursday with homicide by child abuse.

The warrant says Steward found her infant son unresponsive in his crib June 10 at their Manning home and left without calling 911 or telling anyone else.

Agents say other family members found the boy still unresponsive about an hour later.

If convicted, Steward faces 20 years to life in prison. It wasn’t known if she had a lawyer.
