Volunteers with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, KaBOOM and the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina joined forces to build a new playground at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center.

Over 200 volunteers from the community gathered together to build the state of the art inclusive playground.

In February, kids from the surrounding community came together to draw their dream playground. The playground is based on their drawings.

This is the 12th playground built by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. According to a press release, this area was selected to help benefit a community impacted by Hurricane Florence in hopes of restoring normalcy through play for kids and families still impacted by the storm.
