A large fire destroyed three businesses in a strip mall in Fairmont on Friday afternoon, media reports said.
The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Walnut Street and gutted a Dollar Tree, The Meat Store, and a True Value Hardware, Fairmont Police Chief Jon Edwards told the Robesonian newspaper.
Social media posts showed smoke and flames at first coming from the roof area between Dollar Tree and the Meat Store.
Later, social media video showed a massive plume of smoke coming from all three stores. Fire crews were on a large overhead ladder spraying water onto the blaze.
The newspaper reported that no one was injured.
