LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after skeletal remains were located in the 1200 block of Heritage Drive Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins says the remains were found at 3:04 p.m. near the CSX tracks by a surveying crew and they remains will be sent off to the NC Medical Examiners office to be identified.
The sheriff has also notified the Fayetteville office of the FBI for assistance.
