Authorities have ordered a South Carolina sports bar and lounge to stop operations that authorities say is really a strip club.
Richland County Sheriff’s Office says Mi Casita Sports Bar and Lounge in Columbia operates illegally as sexually oriented business. Sheriff Leon Lott said the business opens as a restaurant, “but when the doors close, the poles go up and they start stripping.”
Multiple media outlets report authorities issued a stop work order Friday to Mi Casita.
The business wasn’t open and the owners weren’t present when deputies delivered the stop work order. Deputies said the owners’ lawyers had been notified.
Mi Casita owner Dessi Morales said in December that the business wasn’t a strip club. She said she didn’t think authorities could close the business.
