OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WBTW) – Several people were injured after a deck collapsed at a home in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.
CBS affiliate WWAY reports that according to the town’s mayor, Debbie Smith, the structure collapsed Monday afternoon, injuring several people.
The call to dispatch was received around 1:32 p.m. from 137 Ocean Isle West Blvd. in Brunswick County, according to WWAY. The caller reportedly stated the steps collapsed.
Mayor Smith told WWAY that she was informed a deck had collapsed at an oceanfront home.
Smith also told WWAY that crews were airlifting people and transporting others, and that she didn’t know the extent of any injuries.
