Search warrant leads to 3 arrests in Robeson County

LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) –  The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Division Investigators, SWAT Operators, Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division and Deputies with the Community Impact Team executed a search warrant Thursday at 9331 Hwy 211 East, Lumberton. According to a press release, during the search officers found cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators arrested and charged William Thelbert Washington, 53, of Lumberton, with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possess marijuana up to a ½ oz., possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Washington was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $105,000 secured bond.

Deputies also arrested, Gloria Faye Hammonds, 63, of St. Pauls, on outstanding warrants for driving while license revoked and fictitious registration. Hammonds was placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $1,500 secured bond.

Letha Rose Jones, 46, of Lumberton, was also arrested on outstanding warrants for shoplifting and placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $500 secured bond.

Sheriff Wilkins said in a Facebook post that the RCSO “will be seeking Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement Action to seize this property to alleviate the problem in your community.”

Wilkins also said this is the second time search warrants have been served on this property since he took office in December.

“This is the second time we have served search warrants on the property since I took office in December. It’s quite simple, if I do a video in front of your house regarding drug sales, you can rest assured we’re coming. We aren’t done yet and will be back if necessary,” he said.
