A teenager in Scotland County has been arrested and charged for the rape of an elderly person.
The Scotland County Detective Division says in a Facebook post a 15-year-old was arrested on July 27 and charged with one count of felony, second degree forcible rape upon an elderly person.
The rape allegedly occurred sometime around July 20 at 17030 Palmer Road in Laurinburg, according to the post.
Detectives concluded an investigation and petitioned North Carolina Juvenile Services for custody of the teen. He was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
No other information on the suspect or the incident is available.
