GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said a woman died after being bitten multiple times by a dog on Thursday.
According to Coroner Kent Dill, Nancy Cherryl Burgess-Dismuke, 52, of Greenville, received multiple severe dog bites to her upper body, which resulted in Burgess-Dismuke losing a large amount of blood.
Greenville County EMS units responded to her home on Yale Street and took her to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment, where she later died.
The woman’s cause of death is pending, but her manner of death has been deemed an accident.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office is investigating the case.
