ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WSPA) — Deputies have arrested an Easley man accused of abandoning a dog along an Upstate road.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office charged Rosalio Gonzalez Santiago with abandonment of an animal.
An arrest warrant says Gonzalez Santiago abandoned a Labrador mix on McMurtrey Road in Pendleton earlier this month.
Deputies say the act was caught on camera.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and Easley police identified Gonzalez Santiago as the suspect through a joint investigation.
Deputies previously said a man could be seen in video surveillance pulling off the side of the road, opening the tailgate to a truck and dumping the dog.
Anderson County P.A.W.S. is caring for the dog.
