A North Carolina woman who was reported missing by her husband nearly a week ago has been found and is safe, officials said Sunday evening.

Jessica Lynn Jackson Locklear, 31, of Maxton was reported missing Christmas Eve, according to Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins.

Wilkins made two pleas for info about Locklear over a 24 hour period since Friday.

Locklear was last seen driving her 2005 Lincoln LS in Maxton.

Sunday just after 6 p.m. Wilkins announced that Locklear was with a friend and was safe.

He noted that several staffers worked on their days off to help find Locklear over the six days she was missing.

“I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers,” Wilkins said in a social media post.

He did not release details because of “her personal matters,” the sheriff’s statement said.
