Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins has a message for drug dealers in part of the county.

In a Facebook post Wednesday night about a woman’s arrest on drug and gun charges, Sheriff Wilkins said his department is ‘just getting started’ with cleaning up the Union Chapel Area.

He wrote that some people don’t take the department’s efforts seriously, despite previous warnings about arresting drug dealers.

“To the law abiding citizens of the chapel and Maynor Center area, we aren’t done,” Sheriff Wilkins said. “In fact we are just getting started in cleaning that area up. We will be seeking federal charges against those that continue to reap the benefits of the sales of illegal drugs especially those sales that are taking place near our schools, playgrounds and churches.”

At the end of his note, he had this message:

“To the drug dealing criminal element that continues to wreak havoc on our communities; we will see you soon.”

Sheriff Wilkins has taken a very active role on social media since being sworn in, back in December.
