LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – After serving as the interim Superintendent of Robeson County Schools for more than a year, Dr. Shanita Wooten can now remove “interim” from her title.
A post on the school district’s Facebook page says Dr. Wooten was named the district’s Superintendent by the school board Tuesday night. Dr. Wooten has served in the interim role since January 2017.
The district’s Public Relations Officer, Tasha Oxendine, says Dr. Wooten received the title with an 8 to 3 vote. Dr. Wooten’s contract will extend through June 2021.
