The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects and a vehicle in connection with an armed robbery.
Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the 41 Grocery and Market, located at 9108 NC Highway 41 North in the Lumberton area, on Wednesday around 9:09 a.m., Major Anthony Thompson says in a press release.
According to Thompson, when law enforcement arrived, information was received that an unknown male walked into the store, fired a shot into the ceiling of the store, pointed the gun at the female clerk, and demanded money out of the register. The female clerk gave the suspect the cash drawer and he took it and left the store.
The suspect was wearing a black Nike hoodie, black gloves on his hands, a black and white bandana covering his face, and holding a black semi automatic handgun in his right hand, Thompson said.
The suspect is believed to have been picked by an accomplice described as a male operating a 2004 gold-colored Honda Accord with a sunroof, according to Thompson.
The RCSO released photos of the suspect, accomplice, and the vehicle and Thompson said there is no known license plate number associated with the vehicle.
