SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies responded to an incident that occurred at the Reminisce neighborhood pool at approximately 8:00 p.m. on June 24, in regards of a woman’s son being assaulted by an adult female, according to the incident report.
On June 25, Detectives from Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for Stephenie Sebby-Strempel, 38, for Assault 3rd Degree regarding an incident that occurred at the Reminisce neighborhood pool in Summerville on June, 24, according to spokesman Tony Phinney.
The report states that the boy was staying with a family and that the family has a friend that lives in Reminisce community, who extended an invitation for the family, children and the victim to go swimming at the pool.
The victim stated in the incident report, before he or his friends were able to get into the pool, Strempel told them that they did not belong there and they had to leave. The victim added to the report, they were, “respectful and said, yes ma’am,” and began to leave the pool area.
When the victim began to leave, Strempel began calling the victim and his friends “punks” and using “racial slurs,” according to the report. Authorities stated in the report that Strempel then walked after the victim towards the exit and hit him in the chest. She continued to follow the victim towards the exit and hit him in the face at least twice, the report added.
Detectives from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for Stephanie Strempel, Phinney added.
When attempting to serve the warrant, Strempel physically resisted arrest; pushed one Detective into a wall and then bit a second Detective on the arm, breaking the skin, Phinney stated.
Strempel’s bond court hearing was set for $65,000 total surety bond.
