“Giving Tuesday” is traditionally the day where people give back in the spirit of the holiday season.

This year’s “Giving Tuesday” will be tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 27.

Many people donate to charities and organizations, or physically do some sort of service for those in need.

The American Red Cross hopes people will donate what they can after Hurricane Florence devastated our area.

If you donate to the Red Cross on Tuesday, Lowe’s will match every donation dollar for dollar up to $100,000.

During Hurricane Florence, the organization provided about 24,000 overnight stays in South Carolina.

The organization also helps those who have lost their home in a fire.

They say the community really stepped up to help them after Hurricane Florence and hope people will continue to give so the organization can help those impacted by disasters.

“Your gift is going to help us continue our mission in serving those who are the most in need in alleviating their pain,” said Amy Brauer, Executive Director for the Eastern SC Chapter of the ARC.

The Red Cross also asks for blood donations. There are several blood donation centers in our area, including The Blood Center in Carolina Forest.
