LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to the Lumberton Police Department.
Police say a pedestrian was struck on I-95 in the northbound lane around 9:20 p.m. The incident happened in front of Kayser-Roth, a commercial plant that faces I-95, confirms Captain Terry Parker. Officers found the person deceased at the scene.
Officials have not released the name of the victim, but say the driver of the car involved was on scene when officers arrived. The driver’s name is not being released until further investigation, Capt. Parker says.
