The Pembroke Police Department and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting at a McDonald’s.

Detective Ed Strickland, with the PPD, says the shooting happened at the McDonald’s on West 3rd Street around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A female victim was shot in the leg.

Strickland also says this victim was taken to the hospital by EMS, but left the hospital against medical advice. This victim isn’t cooperating with the investigation and wouldn’t issue a statement, he says. Other witnesses will also not comply with police.

According to Strickland, police have a suspect in this case, but he has not been taken into custody and no charges have been filed.

The RCSO, who is assisting in the investigation, says this incident is likely tied to a domestic situation and a possible larceny, but that an investigation is ongoing.
