SALTERS, SC (WBTW) – A van hit and killed someone walking on U.S. Hwy. 52 in Williamsburg County on Monday morning, according the the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Corporal Sonny Collins said the mini-van was heading south when it hit the pedestrian around 8:45 a.m. near Mulberry Road. That’s southwest of Kingstree.
Collins said no charges are expected because the pedestrian was illegally in the road.
Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said he is working to reach the next of kin before releasing the pedestrian’s name.
