One person is dead following a high-speed crash on South Robeson Road in Robeson County, Saturday.
Sgt. R. Wright with the North Carolina Highway Patrol tells us the crash happened on South Robeson Road near Raynham Road. The driver of the car is identified as 34-year-old Lyn Hunt of Lumberton died as a result of the crash.
According to Sgt. Wright, Hunt was traveling east on South Robeson Road at a high speed when he ran off the road and struck the guard rail on a bridge. The car, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, came to a stop just outside the treeline. Troopers responded to the crash just at 7 p.m. Saturday
Speed was a contributing factor in this crash, Sgt. Wright tells us it is unknown if alcohol contributed to the crash.
