One person is dead and another injured after a bloody confrontation in Robeson County, early Saturday morning.
According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, at around 12:30 Saturday morning deputies responded to 177 Tuscarora Nations rd, in Maxton, about a subject being assaulted.
When deputies arrived they found Lawrence Caple, 55, standing outside the home bleeding. He had been stabbed multiple times. Caple told deputies that he shot Joshua Dante Collins, 31 of Maxton, during the attack.
Deputies entered the home and found Collins deceased.
Caple was transported to a local hospital for surgery. His condition is currently unknown.
This incident is still under investigation.
