RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The Raleigh swim team staff member has been charged with sex crimes involving a child, warrants say. 

Nicholas John Walkotten, 32, faces two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count statutory sex offense with a child under the  age of 15.

Walkotten served as a coach with the Marlins of Raleigh until he was fired Aug. 2, team officials said. 

The crimes happened on-or-between June 1 and August 1, warrants show. 

He’s being held at the Wake County Detention Center under a $2 million bond and will appear in court on Friday.
