FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) – The Wake County man accused of using a hidden camera to spy on a 27-year-old put the camera in the woman’s bedroom while house sitting, Fuquay-Varina police said.

Brian Keith Fisher, 39, who lives near Fuquay-Varina, faces a felony charge of secret peeping after police said he used the hidden camera from April through June.

Police said the victim’s family reported Fisher had access to the home’s WiFi password while house sitting.

“The camera was installed without the victim’s or her family’s knowledge or permission,” Fuquay-Varina police said in a Facebook post.

Fisher had expressed “romantic interest” in the victim but the two never had a relationship.

When the family disconnected the camera, Fisher connected them about stopping by the home, police said.

Fuquay-Varina police, along with help from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Fisher’s home on July 23, officials said.

That led to Fisher’s arrest.

He’s being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
