Authorities this week arrested a 31-year-old Mount Pleasant man who they say possessed and distributed child pornography.

Zachary Fasola was arrested Thursday as the result of an investigation through the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

According to an affidavit, Fasola was in possession of dozens of images depicting minors engaged in sexual activity or appearing in a state of sexually explicit nudity.

Records show the documents were located on Fasola’s computer or computer-related materials inside a home on Monaco Drive.

In total, Fasola received 21 charges for distributing and possessing child porn.

Charges include both second and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor – each punishable up to 10-years in prison.

His bond totaled more than $100,000.
