LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – A man wanted for murder in North Carolina was arrested in Robeson County.

Robeson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1000 block of Crawford Rd. in Lumberton around 12:41 a.m. on Monday “in reference to a suspicious vehicle and people in the area,” according to a post on the RCSO Facebook page. When deputies arrived, they found Hayden R. Godair, 25, of Rockwell, NC and a woman.

“The vehicle had been reported stolen and the female was in possession of a stolen firearm,” stated the post. “Godair initially provided a false name to the deputies.”

During the investigation, deputies reportedly determined that Godair was wanted for first degree murder by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

The Lumberton Police Department assisted.
