A man and his girlfriend are facing murder charges after human skeletal remains were found in Adams Run.
Patrick Lee Gregory, 28, is charged with murder. Sarah Suzan Kelley, 30, is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.
Authorities say at around 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, a witness told investigators that Gregory came to his home and confessed to killing someone, further saying that the body would never be found, according to an affidavit.
A second witness, who was present during the confession, said that Gregory told him at an earlier time that he killed the victim and “they” burned the body on the property.
Investigators found bones several yards from the rear of 6966 Parkers Ferry Road. Detectives contacted the Coroner’s Office who later verified the remains were human. A third witness told investigators that they were present in the home at the time of the incident and provided certain details identifying the defendant as the person who killed the victim and with assistance from other people, removed the body from the home, and burned the remains.
Gregory was identified as the suspect. His girlfriend, Kelley, was identified as an accessory to the crime.
Charleston County Detectives, along with the assistance of the SC Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, located Gregory and Kelley driving through Berkeley County.
The suspects were arrested and transported to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
The pair’s bond hearings are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 16.
