Man accused of pushing girlfriend through Upstate Bojangles’ window

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office officials said a man is in custody after he reportedly shoved his girlfriend into and through the glass window at an area fast food restaurant.

According to a sheriff’s office report, deputies responded to Bojangles’, located at 1800 Asheville Highway, on Tuesday in reference to an assault.

When they arrived, they found a female victim visibly upset with several cuts to her head and arms.

The victim told deputies that she and her boyfriend – Quakentric Octavius Pendergrass, 24 — had been arguing outside of the restaurant and when they went back inside he shoved her into and through the glass at the front of the restaurant.

The victim was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

Pendergrass reportedly called Bojangles’ and asked if his girlfriend was ok.

Deputies spoke with him on the phone and he said that his girlfriend tripped and fell through the double-paned glass window.

Pendergrass was asked by deputies to come back to the restaurant, which he agreed to do, but never showed up.

Deputies said the glass appeared to have been broken by “substantial force.”

A warrant was issued for malicious injury to property in regards to the broken window, and a judge found probable cause to issue a warrant for assault and battery-1st degree.

Deputies say Pendergrass was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
