Lumberton police and fire crews are investigating a “suspicious fire” at a department store.
Crews with the Lumberton Fire Department and Lumberton Police Department officers responded to Rose’s Department Store, located at 203 East 24th Street, around 9:53 a.m. on Monday, according to a press release from the LPD.
Fire crews arrived on scene and “found a small fire on one of the isles in the store,” the release says. The sprinkler system activated from one sprinkler head and fire crews put the remaining fire out.
“At this time, the fire is being investigated as a suspicious fire,” the release also says. Investigators are interviewing employees and customers who were at the store on Monday morning and reviewing video footage from the store.
No injuries were reported.
