(WBTW) – Members of the Lumbee Tribe impacted by Hurricane Florence have some extra help on the way.
The tribe is offering disaster recovery services to members impacted by natural disasters, according to a post on the Lumbee Tribe of NC’s Facebook page. “This program will assist with necessary repairs to ensure safe and sanitary homes for tribal members.”
The tribe will begin accepting applications on March 11 and applicants must meet eligibility requirements, which include:
- Must be an actively enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of NC
- Must reside in the tribal service area: Robeson, Scotland, Hoke, and Cumberland Counties
- Must meet income guidelines
- Must be primary residence
- Members who have received prior assistance from the Lumbee Tribe of NC are still eligible for disaster services
- If an applicant has received any assistance from any other disaster recovery programs or organization due to natural disasters, applicant must bring in the documentation.
The program will operate under the Lumbee Tribe’s House Department, the post also said. Applications must be completed at the Lumbee Tribal Housing Complex, located at 984 NC Hwy 711 West in Pembroke. Applications will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 910-521-7861.
