CLARENDON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Investigators in South Carolina are looking for more evidence in the killing of a student who mistook her alleged murderer’s car for an Uber.
Officials say they conducted a search at the location in Clarendon County on Wednesday.
That’s near the field where Samantha Josephson’s remains were discovered last Friday.
Fourteen hours earlier, she was seen on surveillance video getting into a car she thought was an Uber in Columbia.
The search came on the same day Josephson was laid to rest in her New Jersey hometown.
South Carolina lawmakers proposed a new law requiring ride-share vehicles to have recognizable illumination signs.
The 21-year-old student’s suspected killer, Nathaniel Rowland, was later arrested. He’s now facing murder and kidnapping charges.
