South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed Sept 23 to 29 “Employ Older Workers Week.”
Some agencies across the state are working to make sure older workers have the skills they need to get hired.
Goodwill offers training and placement services to support job seekers in the state through the U.S. Department of Labor’s senior community service employment program. It offers paid on-the-job training for those who have low income or are unemployed.
Goodwill says public and non-profit agencies are often stretched thin, this lets them expand services while helping older job seekers develop valuable skills.
