Funeral services announced for Hania Aguilar

Funeral services have been announced for Hania Noelia Aguilar.

According to Aguilar’s obituary with Colvin Funeral Home and Crematory, a Catholic mass will be held on December 7 at 7 p.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, located at 2008 Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton.

Funeral services will be held on Dec. 8 at 12 p.m. at Lumberton Senior High School, located at 3901 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.

Aguilar will be laid to rest at Meadowbrook Cemetery, also in Lumberton.

She is survived by her mother, Celsa Maribel Hernandez Velasquez, her father, Miguel Barrera, and two sisters.

On November 27 around 4:45 p.m., authorities found a body while searching the area near Wire Grass Road for Aguilar. FBI agents and Lumberton Police Department officers found the body in a body of water off Wire Grass Road.

The FBI also said tips coming in lead them to searching the area near Wire Grass Road.

Aguilar was abducted from her home on November 5th in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park on Elizabethtown Road.

Previously, the FBI asked for any video surveillance that anyone may have from the area near where Hania was last seen. That included Wire Grass Road, where the body was found Tuesday.

FBI agents also previously released photos of the shoes Hania was wearing when she disappeared.

The combined reward for information leading to Hania’s location, or to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible, was increased to $30,000 earlier in the month.
