GAFFNEY, SC (WBTW) – Agents of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested a former Cherokee County Detention Center officer they say killed a neighbor’s dog .

Patton Wayne Price, Jr., was charged on Tuesday with killing, maiming or wounding a dog that had entered upon private property.

Agents say Patton did shoot and kill the neighbor’s dog, according to the arrest warrant.

The SLED investigation was requested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Price was booked in the Cherokee County Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
