BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – A Hernando County man is behind bars after deputies say he threw a bowl of pancake batter at a woman over the weekend.

Deputies arrested 45-year-old Dwayne Zimmerman late Friday night at his home on Ruth Street in Brooksville. According to an arrest report, Zimmerman was drunk and went out onto the porch of the home where a woman was making pancakes for dinner.

The woman told deputies Zimmerman insulted her, then threw the cooking pan. He then threw the bowl of pancake batter at the woman, according to the arrest report. Deputies say the plastic bowl missed hitting the woman directly but was thrown with enough force that it broke.

When deputies got to the scene, they found the woman with pancake batter in her hair and on her clothes. The arrest report says there was also batter slung across the floor of the porch and the screen enclosure.

Zimmerman was arrested for felony battery and taken to the Hernando County Jail where he is being held on $2,000 bond.

In the arrest report, deputies noted that Zimmerman was previously convicted of battery back in 2007. He also pled no contest to a battery charge back in 2001.
