First-degree murder suspect surrenders in Robeson County, according to deputies

LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – A first-degree murder suspect has turned himself into authorities.

Deputies in Robeson County say, Ronchelle Raquan Lewis, 18, was wanted in relation to the death of April Oxendine. Deputies say Oxendine was found dead in the back seat of a truck on Highway 17 North Lumber Bridge yesterday. Deputies say the shooting happened on Russell Road in Shannon.

Early this morning, deputies say Lewis turned himself. He is charged with first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies say Lewis was shooting at the driver of a vehicle he was having a dispute with. That’s when Oxendine was hit with a bullet.
