COLUMBIA, SC (WBTW) – With Hurricane Michael threatening to produce dangerous conditions across South Carolina, state and FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will close temporarily due to poor weather conditions.

The South Carolina Emergency Management Division announced Tuesday evening that recover centers in Chesterfield, Dillon, Georgetown, Horry, Marion and Marlboro counties will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The centers will re-open Friday with new hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays. Help is still available online or by phone, emergency officials say. Applicants can check their eligibility and register for federal, state and voluntary agency disaster assistance at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585), or using the FEMA app.
