LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – FBI agents were in the Lumberton area Thursday night to investigate the unsolved homicides of three women, according to Shelley Lynch, a spokesperson for the FBI’s office in Charlotte. The women’s bodies were found within blocks of each other between April and June 2017.  

Christina Bennett, known by her family as Kristin, was found dead inside a house on Peachtree Street in Lumberton on April 18, 2017. Rhonda Jones was found deceased outside a house on East 5th Street in Lumberton on the same day, April 18, 2017. Megan Oxendine was found deceased outside a house on East 8th Street in Lumberton on June 3, 2017.

FBI agents continue to work with Lumberton Police to build a timeline leading up to the women’s deaths and determine how they died, Lynch told News13. The agents hoped to conduct more interviews Thursday and getting additional tips.

The FBI is offering a $30,000 reward to anyone who provides information who helps investigators determine the circumstances of the women’s deaths.
