(WBTW / WFLA) – Christian evangelist Billy Graham has died at the age of 99, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has confirmed to CBS News.

Graham was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and reportedly died at his home in the state.

Graham was known around the world especially for his large indoor and outdoor rallies. His sermons were also broadcast on the radio.

He is also known for hosting the annual Billy Graham Crusades on television.

Graham oversaw the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association which supported and extended the evangelistic calling and ministries of Billy Graham and Franklin Graham, according to the organizations’ website.

Graham would have been 100 in November.
