Dale’s Seafood in Tabor City destroyed by fire

TABOR CITY, NC (WBTW) – A popular seafood restaurant in Tabor City was destroyed early Friday morning by a fire that ripped through the roof of the building.

Dale’s Seafood in Tabor City is considered a total loss after Friday morning’s fire. Tabor City Fire Assistant Chief Jeff Fowler says the call came in around 3:50 a.m. and it took numerous fire crews an hour and a half to get the fire under control.

Tabor City Fire, Loris Fire, Roseland Volunteer Fire Department, Williams Township, and Columbus County Emergency Services responded to the restaurant fire, located at 100 US-701 Bypass.

Fire officials say one firefighter reported a very minor injury, but no one else was hurt.

The restaurant was constructed of all wood and did not have a sprinkler system. Fire investigators are still working to determine a cause of the blaze, reports Chief Fowler.
