GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – The father of an Upstate teen, whose daughter died in a DUI crash, has been arrested after he was accused of providing alcohol to the underage driver of that vehicle.
Nicholas Adams is accused of giving alcohol to 19-year-old Madison Bagwell and letting her drive.
The crash killed a passenger, 17-year-old Jessica Faye Adaline Adams, when the car it veered off U.S. 25 in Travelers Rest and hit a guardrail, according to investigators.
Warrants show that Adams is charged with:
- Parties to a Crime – DUI / Felon driving under the influence resulting in death
- Parties to a Crime – DUI / Felony driving under the influence, great bodily injury results
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor (3 counts)
- Unlawful neglect of child or helpless person
- Giving beer or wine to minor, transfer or gift (2 counts)
Adams was given a $450 bond on the two counts of transferring gifts of beer or wine to a minor.
Warrants show that Adams is also accused of endangering two 13 year olds that night because Bagwell was supposed to give them a ride home.
Madison Bagwell is charged with felony DUI resulting in death.
Adams said he forgave Bagwell for her poor choices in a previous interview, “people make bad decisions. Accidents happen, poor judgment, I don’t hate her for it. I still love her.”
