Charleston County Dispatch confirms several crews are responding to a water rescue on Johns Island near the Limehouse Boat Landing.
According to the St. John’s Fire District, they are searching for a 17-year-old male who fell off a boat near the sandbar by the Limehouse Bridge.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources responded just before 8 p.m.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, St. Andrews Fire, North Charleston Fire, and the Coast Guard are also assisting.
Authorities say the Limehouse Boat Landing will remain closed while search continues.
The American Red Cross says trained volunteers are providing support to at least 50 first responders from multiple agencies.
