GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Halloween came early for dozens of babies at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Travelers Rest United Methodist Church donated over 90 Halloween costumes to NICU babies there. The costumes were made by church volunteers in partnership with March of Dimes.
Nurses at Greenville Memorial Hospital began the practice decades ago.
“They handmade some costumes and began a collection of costumes that we’ve used for years,” March of Dimes Family Support Coordinator Rachel Balck explains. “With the church group making these costumes, what’s new about this is we’re able to gift them to the families and then they have a keepsake.”
Travelers Rest United Methodist Church is always looking for more volunteers to help make blankets and hats for premature babies.
