LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – Twenty-eight pupils were on a Deep Branch Elementary School bus that was hit by a car Wednesday morning.
A car hit the bus at around 7 a.m. this morning at NC-711 and Lowe Road in Robeson County as it was stopping to pick up a student, according to Karen Brooks-Floyd, assistant superintendent at the Public Schools of Robeson County.
All students seem to be fine, said Brooks-Floyd, except for one who was a little shaken up. That student was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
The car tried to avoid hitting the bus but lost control and hit the busy anyway, Brooks-Floyd said.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
