WAGRAM, NC (WBTW) – An Alabama man is wanted for child exploitation and indecent liberties with a minor in Scotland County.

On Wednesday, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division obtained criminal warrants for Odarius Deshun Peoples, 24, of Levurne, Alabama, according to a post of the unit’s Facebook page. The warrants are for one felony count of first degree child exploitation, one felony count of solicitation of a minor child by computer, and one felony count of indecent liberties with a minor child.

The SCSO Criminal Investigative Division conducted an investigation from a report filed on November 2, 2018 from the principal of Spring Hill Middle School in Wagram, the post said.

“The report indicated that a school electronic device, received an IT department flag for suspected pornographic materials being viewed or accessed by a student,” stated the post. “Upon further investigation, the sheriff’s office investigators concluded that a minor child, whom was a student of this reporting school, was in communication with an adult male in the state of Alabama. These communications allegedly included elicit conversations and alleged exchanges of suspected exploitative materials.”

“Additionally, the adult male was allegedly communicating with the minor child, about his desire for her to leave the state of North Carolina and move to Alabama,” added the release. “These incidents and communications did not occur while at school or on any school campus.”

The SCSO communicated with the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama and requested help in locating the Peoples.

People is wanted and the SCSO said they will seek extradition back to NC.
