A teenager was shot at a home in Robeson County on Thursday night around 7:30 p.m.

According to Major Anthony Thompson, with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, a 15-year-old was shot on Baltimore Church Road on Thursday outside of the Fairmont community. 

Robeson County Sheriff Ken Sealey said the 15-year-old boy was believed to have been shot by a 22-year-old man. Investigators havent been able to rule out the possibility that the shooting was accidental. 

No arrests have been made in the case.

The boy was talking and conscious when medical staff arrived, but according to Sheriff Sealey, is considered to be in ‘serious’ condition. The victim is recovering at Chapel Hill Hospital.

It’s not clear what led to the incident. No arrests have been made.
