136 marijuana plants, stolen weapons seized from Goose Creek house

Live plants, nearly 75 pounds of marijuana, and firearms were seized from a grow house at 114 Mimosa Lane in Goose Creek on May 23.

A Facebook post from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says the office’s Drug Enforcement Unit seized 136 live marijuana plants, nearly 33,900 grams, or roughly 75 pounds, of marijuana, 18 grams of marijuana wax, several vehicles, drug growing equipment such as generators, and 23 guns during a search of the house. Of these guns, four have been confirmed to be stolen.

The post also says five people were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure: 40-year-old Harry Holibaughn, 20-year-old Tevon Ambursley, 23-year-old Justin Doke, 54-year-old Peter Cook, and 42-year-old Amanda Land, all of Goose Creek. Each suspect faces several drug and gun charges. All five people were taken to the Hill Finklea Detention Center. Holibaughn, Doke, Cook and Land were released last week on bonds ranging from $25,000 to $135,000. Ambursley remains in jail pending the posting of a $75,000 bond.

“Berkeley County is a safer place with this operation shut down. We are working hard every day to help eliminate the illegal drug problem in Berkeley County,” Sheriff Duane Lewis says in the post.
