1 injured after weekend shooting in Robeson County

Robeson County sheriffs responded to a shooting over the weekend.

A press release says officers responded to a shooting at 444 Dawns Drive in Rowland around 1:50 a.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived, they found there had been a large party at a house and a fight had occurred between two groups of males. The homeowner then fired shots in the air, causing the groups of men to leave.

As they were leaving, one group of males inside a gray Chrysler 300 began shooting towards the house, according to the release. A male victim was struck by a bullet and was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

No suspects have been identified and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
